i think the emotional damage from abuse do so much more lasting damage than just the physical part of it. physical bruise heals in days, weeks. but injuries to the heart and mind might never heal.

Growing up, my parents actually took the time to do therapy sessions with me. Not because one of us has a problem but because they want to be able to have that guide as to how to raise me properly. How they were raised before is different from today's generation so I'm glad they invested in something like this because I agree, it has a mental effect on children.

It is sad when children experience abuse when they should be given love and care. I cannot imagine the damage it brings to their psyche.

Child abuse is terrible and no child should ever experience it. And although there are plenty of help, there will still be parents who would do these things to their kids, it's all about spreading the word.

I had just watched a film about child abuse ("Ringgo") and really saw how long-lasting the trauma and scars of this continues to affects the child even as he is growing up or even as an adult. Terrible how some parents and guardians who are expected to protect these kids are the same ones who hurt them.

This is very important to me as a parent. Child abuse is common the world over and it's a terrifying experience for children, one that scars them until they are old. It's good that we're all raising awareness to prevent this.

Child abuse is something that is not normally talked openly. When I took a spiritual counseling course, I found out how a lot of the burdens that adults carry can be rooted to child abuse. It takes time, commitment and openness to undergo healing.

I think when it comes to depression, it's really important to detect it early. The earlier it's handled, the better.

No child deserves to be abused and still we have so many cases of the same. We all should do our part to report such cases and stop them.

There are more and more reported cases of child abuse and it's important how everyone pays attention to this as children are suppose to be the hope of tomorrow and not suffer from the adults!

Child abuse is a complicated thing and a very necessary thing to deal with esp child sexual abuse. And more often than not child abuse happens with known adults than strangers!! Sad but true..

Child abuse encompasses a multitude of acts and sometimes there is really such a very thin and sensitive line between abuse and being an overzealous parents. In the end, it really is a must to strike a healthy balance and to put the children's well-being a priority.

abuse emotionally can be a lifelong battle. Me as a parent is very careful hitting my daughter or scolding her because I fear that it might affect her. I hope that there will be a wide campaign for the abuse kids. I hate to see or hear any news about child being beaten or tortured emotionally. it breaks my heart

When I first became a parent, I thought I was terrible in keeping my emotion and always let loose of my temper. I knew I had to stop because it would not be a good example for my kid. I didn't want them to think I am abusing them verbally.

So many children have been scarred for life by abuse from their own parents. We must be very careful how we treat our own even if we believe that we are doing something for their better interest.

I do not understand why sick individuals abused a child. They must be full of demons. It is a sad reality but it happens to the unfortunate kids.

I'm always furious to hear about kids being abuse by anyone. For this angels who were supposed to be love always they don't deserve to be treated like this. And the consequences sometimes just hurts me more.

It is good to bring awareness about the many faces of child abuse. People thought it was just physical. Not a lot of people know that giving stress to kids is also a type of abuse.

It's hard to detect depression but it should be treated as early as you find out.

child abuse indeed comes in different forms. I am not a perfect parent either but I always see to it that I always address what's my son battling to. Whenever I see something unusual from his actions, I always reach out to him what happened. I believe that even in simplest form whether you are at home or outside, everyone can be abused physically and emotionally and I don't want my son to experience it. If he has to go through it, I want to know so that I can help him fight it.

The psychological effects of side abuse might very difficult to prevent altogether and might resurface at any given time in a child's life or later on when he or she grows up into adulthood. It is a must that a child gets into therapy so a professional can address concerns and issues that may arise.
